How

For every km you complete in an Event Medtronic will contribute 10 Euros. For each event you enter, the km you expect to run are registered on the Charity Challenge website. When you complete that run, you submit the official confirmation of event completion (via fax or electronically) and this distance is added to the total km completed. Once our goal of 100,000 Euros is reached, the challenge is closed.

  • Is the Medtronic Charity Challenge a competition?
    • No, but it is a Challenge.

To beat rheumatic heart disease, one step at a time

And a personal one for sure - to follow your fitness program and complete the event to your satisfaction. You run whatever distance you want, and Medtronic will contribute to the World Heart Federation’s campaign to beat rheumatic heart disease

And maybe competitive elements will emerge…who knows!

  • Will Medtronic cover my expenses?
    • No, you pay all your own costs, that way all the money raised goes towards beating rheumatic heart disease.

  • How many kilometers or miles can I run?
    • That's up to you. Every event you complete adds km to the total, which means Euros to help beat rheumatic heart disease, until we reach the goal of 100,000 Euros.

  • How do I know what happens to the money?
  • I will be running with my family, will Medtronic sponsor them too?
    • Everyone is encouraged to participate and reap the health benefits of exercise; however, Medtronic will sponsor only its employees and partners in the Cardiovascular medical community.

  • What if the goal is reached before I run?
    • Once the goal of 100,000 Eur contribution is reached, the organized part of the Challenge is finished, what an achievement! However keep running! Regular exercise has many benefits for health and wellbeing. If you would like to make an individual contribution to help beat rheumatic heart disease, please go to www.world-heart-federation.org. You can donate:

      • by credit card
      • by cheque

  • Is Medtronic giving prizes?
    • Everyone who participates is contributing to beating rheumatic heart disease, as well as their own health and wellbeing. There are no other rewards or prizes, just the satisfaction of your personal achievement, the knowledge that you personally have made a real contribution, and the fun of taking part in the event(s). And a huge thank you from the organizers, Medtronic, and the World Heart Federation.
